Big News....I'M ENGAGED!!!

It's about time I updated my blog so I can tell you how all of this went down.  

I need to back up a bit and tell you what had to happen in my life so I could meet my fiance Tyler...

So I was supposed to go to New Zealand to student teach for eight weeks!  I was thrilled to go, I mean...who wouldn't want to go to New Zealand?!  Anyhow, I ended up getting sick a week and a half before I was supposed to fly out of the US.  I was diagnosed with mono.  I was SO sure that I would get better by the time I was supposed to fly out.  But as the week went on, all I did was get worse and worse.  I had every symptom possible (minus strep) for mono AND I had Jaundice like you wouldn't believe.  I was turning asian before my families eyes! And then all of a sudden I was diagnosed with Hep A.  This put the health dept in a frenzy because I already had my Hep Shots.  They found out that the Hep A was mono induced.  So it wasn't the viral Hep A, but I had all the symptoms of Hepatitis. Crazy Right? I had NO idea that Mono could do that.  So all in all the doctor was worried of liver failure.  One day before I was supposed to leave to New Zealand, The doctor hit me with all of this liver failure and Hep A news and told me I couldn't leave the country until my liver enzymes were back to normal, which could take weeks. I was devastated...I had a confirmation though that I was supposed to stay here and not go, which made it easier to accept the fact I wasn't going on this amazing trip.  I ended up missing about a month of school due to this crazy illness. 

Now was the hard part.  Going back to school and student teaching while still feeling awful!  I knew I was supposed to be in Logan student teaching...But why.  I was always asking and praying to the Lord so I could figure out WHY I was here.  Well, on March 28th I met Tyler.  We met at Family Home Evening.  haha so lame, right?  Typical LDS story.  However, It was happen chance that me AND him were there at that particular one.  Neither one of us hardly ever went.  So we met and then hung out every single day after that.  Dating him has been the easiest thing in the world.  Everything just fell into place for us.  I got a summer job up there by him for the month of June, Then got a job for the school year in Springville teaching 4th grade. 

Alright...now onto the engagement story.

So Before the weekend of the 24th, Tyler asked if I would be ok going to St. George on Saturday night to visit the older couple companion that he worked with in his mission. I, of course, was totally cool with it.  In mine and Tyler's conversations he had me convinced that he didn't have the ring and such and so I was sure that he wasn't going to ask me this weekend. So we got ready to go over to St. George and on our way over he told me that he talked to them and they told him that we could choose to hang at their house or a marshmallow roast at Dixie Rock.  So he chose Dixie Rock.  When he told me this I got majorly excited cause I was thinking, "oh my gosh, he might propose!!!"  But then right afterwards I had to convince myself otherwise because if he didn't then I would have been SO disappointed!  So we got to Dixie Rock and no one was there.  Tyler said to me, "They mentioned they might be a little late, so lets hike up to the top".  So i told him ok. And as we were hiking I was secretly trying to look at his pockets to see if I could see a ring!  We got to the top and were looking out over St. George and the temple.  I took out my camera so we could take a picture of us.  After I took a picture then Tyler was like, oh hey we should just get this lady over here to take a picture!  So he took my camera and stopped this random lady walking by and said, "hey, will you take a picture of us?  Like with the temple in the background?"  Handing her the camera he then says,"Take it, no matter what."  She then takes the camera and says "what are you going to do........?" And then comes over by me, kneels down and Proposes!!!! All I could do was shake my head yes.  The lady, however, as soon as he kneels down, runs over and says "Oh my Gosh!!! I think I'm going to cry!" and keeps taking pictures.  When he puts on my ring she exclaims, "Does that mean yes?!" I laughed and said yeah, it does:)  I am almost positive the lady was just as happy as I was, and we probably made her day.  ha!  Anyway, we went and got some ice cream and he told me that he had the ring for 3Weeks!!! He chose it himself, and I love love LOVE it.  We were initially going to get married on 11.11.11 (which would be stellar) But I have all my life wanted an outdoor wedding, so we decided on October 8th!  So there it is!  I am thrilled to marry Tyler.  By far the greatest guy out there:)  We will be doing engagements in a couple weeks!  So I'll have more pictures up fairly soon!

Month of June.

So being in Salt Lake this past month has been amazing.  My job has been super fun and beneficial, and being able to see Tyler all the time has been the best!  We have been able to do so many fun things!  He took me to my first Bee's game.  It was fun, even though we lost, by a lot.

We also went four wheeling with his best friend, Mitch and his date Ashley.  They took us up to some trails in Mantua and brought along a picnic and we ate at a campground we found.  Then we went to Mitch's house (which is gorgeous.) and build a fire and just chilled and talked.

We also have gone fishing, which has been so fun, and nice to have him get my pole ready so I can cast it in.  He is the greatest.

We also went to see my family the weekend that summer games was going on.  We watched my sister and his sister play.  Between games, we took my little sister out to eat.

And we hung out with my old roommate and another friend from college, That night that we hung out, I dunked the basketball...on an eight foot hoop, but still. a dunk.  And I hurt my arm...I somehow pulled the muscles in my forearm. Ouch.

So also I went boating for the first time in my life.  Honestly so much fun.  I tried wakeboarding, and folks?  I got up my first time!  Granted, as soon as I got up, I crashed.  But I ended getting up and staying up for like...20 seconds.  But I was super proud.  We also tubed too.  Way fun.  The aftermath left me a very sore girl.  My arms and back muscles were crazy sore.

Summer Time.

Thus far for summer?  Has been pretty sweet.  I'm doing the whole long-distance thing with Tyler.  I haven't loved that.  But so far I have been able to see him every weekend!  So maybe this summer won't be too bad...

So I have graduated from college.  And have I found a job yet...?  Nope.  And it is SO discouraging. I have interviewed for a couple positions, but I didn't get either of them.  But I'm sure something will work out!  I hope so anyhow.  I did however, get a position for a part-time summer teaching position in the month of June.  So that will be sweet.  It's in SLC so I am living with Rachelle and Leah.  Love those girls. So I move up tomorrow! (June 1st).  And this is a pretty neat part, is that Tyler lives in Kaysville, just 30 minutes away!  So we have big plans.  Fishing this weekend, Bear Lake the next (with his family) they are going boating.  And this will be the first time I have even been boating.  Tyler is bound and determined to teach me to wakeboard....I am pretty nervous.  I'm already clumsy and have horrible balance so put me on a board in water?  yeah...I bet you all could see this go down.  Cause I'm sure I will have some awesome crashes.  Tyler's mom will be there to take pictures.  Hopefully I get at least one good picture of me standing up on the wakeboard so I can have a little dignity.   But needless to say, I am nervous, slash excited.

So this last weekend Tyler came down to see me. Because it was Memorial Day weekend, he got to stay till Monday!  Which was so awesome.  We went to the cabin on Saturday to mow the grass and also to have a cookout.  We went on a sweet hike, but I forgot to bring my camera.  dang.  But other than the cabin we just did some jobs around the house.

Later that weekend, we went and checked out the river to see the snow melt.  It was SO full.  Crazy.

Anyway, I'm excited to start this summer teaching job!  And I'm excited to be closer to Tyler.  Well, that is all for now, next update will include some of my amazing crashes wakeboarding.  Be excited.  Very excited.

Graduation!!!

Well, lets be honest.  I'm so excited I'm done with college. I was so ready to be out of there and to get my own classroom!  I'm applying for so many jobs...but I haven't been hired...yet...I am so confident I will get a job.  I currently have an interview for an academy school in SLC for next week, wish me luck!  But let me back-track.

So graduation.  It didn't seem like it was happening.  I think it will for sure hit me when I don't come back next semester.  Yikes.

So my entire family came up to see me graduate, I love them.  And my boyfriend also came up to see me.  He is honestly the greatest boy in the world. I had no idea such a guy existed.

So I am graduating college in five days.  No big deal...

Actually it it a big deal.  I am unbelievably excited and unbelievably nervous.

I now have to start my career.

It's going to be sweet.

lots of events....

So it's been....three weeks....? I don't know. It has def been a while since I have blogged.  But.  A lot of sweet things have been happening.  first one?  I received my first apple as a teacher! And of course I took a pic of it.

Nice, right?  I thought so too.

Now. On to the next event. My birthday!  Yes, I have turned another year older, making me 22. It was a sweet birthday.  First of all, I totally had school off, which in and of itself is always amazing.  The new guy I'm slightly dating asked if he could take me to dinner, which of course I said yes, so we went to dinner.

ps. this boy's name is Tyler.  Anyway, So after he took me out, then we went out to my brother and sister n law's house for cake and ice cream, as soon as I opened the door, trinity tackled me to the ground and held me there while Justin grabbed his wooden spoon and spanked me 22 times...They are so sweet. After that shantel surprised me with flowers and a card, trinity and kendra gave me some shirts and some hair stuff in a cute Easter basket and then Mylah presented me with her painting for me.  SO cute.  She was explaining it to me, and then said, "well...I think I might keep it and you can get it next time."  But her mom told her that she probably needed to give it to me because it is my birthday.  Here are the pics of the flowers, the Easter basket and Mylah's picture she painted.

So after having cake and ice cream, we decided to go bowling. I love to bowl.  I think it is so fun.  So my siblings and I went bowling with some friends.  I forgot socks when we arrived at the bowling ally.  And what did I do?  I bought some. out of the vending machine!  Who woulda thought, right?

When I came home then I found some brownies and a sign on my bed!  I have the greatest friends.

Anyway, stellar bday.

Now onto other events.  So my friend Kendra is in this class up here and had to make a flapper dress out of newspaper and get someone to model it in a fashion show.  it was a sweet dress!  here it is.

When we went out of the building after the fashion show to go home, this is what it looked like.  It was so cold.  I was in flip flops and shorts...not the greatest outfit for this weather...

Now, onto other events...Tyler's roommate's old mission companion invited us to go to his cabin/barn thing for the weekend to go four wheeling and camping.  So I invited my roommate and her boy to come along with us!  It was large amounts of fun.  Here are some pics of it!

Tyler gave Alisa and me the back of the truck to sleep in and as we got our beds situated, casey and tyler climbed in with us.  we were like sardines...super squished.

 It was honestly super fun.  Everyone was watching a flick, but the four of us didn't feel like it so we decided to go outside and play a little football. It was way fun.

Also important events include my roommate Kristy and her art show!  Tyler, my old roommate sam and her baby boy and I went to go and support her. Tyler just has to be in every pic...

Also in this pic, you can see some of my blue jacket!  I dyed this.  It was kinda a nasty white, so I changed it. I also dyed some five dollar canvas walmart shoes.  they are Legit.  seriously.  Here are the shoes.
